The Shimano Backbone-Elite range are superb quality rods at genuinely reasonable prices.
Perfect for inshore slowjigging and micro jigging, featuring a spiral guide system.
The Backbone has long established itself as one of the main pillars of the Shimano rod range. Offering anglers a versatile selection of blanks built on custom mandrels specifically for slow jigging applications.
At the core of the Backbone is a blank that features Shimano’s legendary TC3 construction, the same 3-Ply graphite weave technology the early Tiagra game rods were built on. The result is a lightweight and sensitive blank with exceptional lifting power and durability. To effectively leverage this, reliable componentry has been used through the build.
Aluminium Oxide Seaguides provide trouble-free line management with both monofilament and braided lines, while graphite reel seats and slim EVA grips provide optimal comfort and performance. You can rest assured, when selecting a slow jigging rod from the Backbone range that you have a purpose-built rod designed specifically for your fishing application.
